CrossRoads was founded in 1950 by a group of Portland Forge employees
who decided to band together in an effort to meet their financial
needs. These foresighted individuals liked the idea of having Portland
Forge Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit, financial cooperative
that would be built on a philosophy of people helping people. Owned
and operated by our members, the credit union has offered an alternative
to traditional banks and provides a safe place to invest money and
a fair place to borrow.
Since the late 70’s, we’ve grown with the addition of
many more select employer groups and through mergers with Jay School
Corporation Credit Union and Indiana Glass Credit Union. In 2004,
the name was changed to better describe the credit union and serve
the current and future membership. The Credit Union Board of Directors
selected the name CrossRoads Financial Federal Credit Union because
people and finances meet at the Credit Union. This part of the Midwest
is well known as the Crossroads of America and our four offices are
located on or near Highways 1, 18, 26, 27, 28, 32, 49, 67 and 167!
Today, CrossRoads remains committed to our mission of “Helping
members meet their financial needs… one CrossRoad at a time.” Visit
the office nearest you and we’ll show you how CrossRoads can
meet your financial needs.
