Youth Saving Challenge
Have Fun with The Science of Saving!
April is Youth Saving month. During the month we focus on helping
our children and youth develop good saving habits. This year,
we invite young minds to experiment with the mathematics that
can be involved with saving money. No worries, just addition
and subtraction as they establish good financial habits! This
challenge requires they set a savings goal at the beginning
of the month, decide how they will meet their goal over the
course of the month (using a budget and ledger) and then save
as much money as they can. There are no limits on the amount
they are required to save, but we hope they continue with a
good savings habit after they watch their savings grow!
- Begins Monday, April 2, 2018 and ends
Monday, April 30, 2018
- Open to members, age 1 – 18
- If your child doesn’t
have an account yet, consider opening one
- Register for
the challenge with one of our friendly tellers
up a sample ledger or you may print one here
- Print the Science of Savings Coloring
Page and have fun!
- Start saving
When youth come in to deposit money, they may guess the
amount of money in the jar and it will be deposited into
LifeSaver Youth Savings Account. Good luck and have fun!
